New FWF Science Communication Project on food, fiber, and the gut microbiome

Outreach

Embark on a flavorful journey with the BaMiKo project, where cooking meets microbiology! Discover the secrets of a healthy gut through vlogs, crafted by experts and students, showcasing recipes that not only tantalize your taste buds but also nourish your well-being.

The BaMiKo project aims to educate adolescents and students aged 15-25 about the crucial connection between food, fibers, and the gut microbiome. Collaborating with gut microbiologists and science communication experts, the project will produce cooking vlogs featuring six recipes that promote gut health, incorporating insights from current research. These videos, developed in collaboration with HBLFA Tirol students, will emphasize the significance of dietary fibers for general well-being, with a focus on local sourcing and sustainability. The content will be shared online through various channels, including the Darm Kram website, and the BaMiKo project will also participate in science festivals to reach a broader audience.
