David Berry appointed Full Professor
People
David Berry has been appointed Full Professor for Human Microbiome Research this week. He has been with DOME since 2009 and most recently held a 5-year professorship. During this time he has advanced research on intestinal microbiology, microbial ecology and evolution and novel methods in environmental microbiology at DOME.
The main research aims of his research group are to gain a fundamental understanding of the assembly and interactions of the intestinal microbiota and to uncover how the microbiota affects host physiology. Since 2018, David Berry is also Operational Director of the Joint Microbiome Facility (JMF), a joint venture of the Medical University of Vienna and the University of Vienna.
