New paper in PNAS

Michael Wagner contributed to a study of a team around Monika Bright that demonstrated escape of endosymbionts from dead hydrothermal vent tubeworms and subsequent proliferation on surfaces. This finding closes a gap in the understanding of the life cycle of the endosymbionts and confirms the connectivity from the host-associated population to the environmental population of the symbionts.
