New Paper in Nature Microbiology: Minimal microbiota with maximal protection against Salmonella

Publication

An international team, led by Bärbel Stecher from the LM-University Munich and including DOME members Carina Pfann, Alexander Loy and David Berry,  used genomic information from individual mouse intestinal strains and comparative metagenomics to assemble and test a minimal microbiota that provides full protection against enteric Salmonella infections. This new minimal microbiota holds much promise for studying microbial resistance mechanisms against Salmonella and for developing new therapies.
