40 year anniversary of the discovery of hydrothermal vents

Science magazine's Elizabeth Pennisi spoke to DOME researcher Jillian Petersen to find out what's new in hydrothermal vent research, on the 40th anniversary of their discovery in 1977.

This landmark discovery was recently celebrated at the 6th International Symposium on Chemosynthesis-Based Ecosystems, Woods Hole USA (see website).
